We use the PEER Process in our trainings. Your officers will have a better understanding of critical incidents and how they effect us. What Peer Support is and its values, and the availability of professional resources.
"Tom Famolare is an expert in the important field of PTSD and stress management in public safety. Tom and his colleagues at the Peer Support Unit at BPD have saved lives. There are too many suicides in policing and Boston is no exception. But I can say with certainty that numerous officers have been saved through Tom’s remarkable devotion to his profession and the health and safety of his brother and sister officers."
Edward Davis. Commissioner, Boston Police Department 2006-2013
"I have known Tom Famolare for several years. He has been instrumental in the establishment and operation of several CISM Teams throughout the Commonwealth. He is an excellent instructor with a wealth of experience. Not only will he teach the class, he has made himself available to answer any questions we have had over the years, he participates in our meetings and is a great resource. "
Chief Thomas Griffin Peabody Police Department.
"Officer mental health has for too long been an afterthought, if a thought at all. Through programs like Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM), police peers are brought up to speed on how to help each other manage the stress load that builds up in our officers. Tom Famolare, a subject matter expert, is a leader in starting, training, and supporting CISM teams, officer peer supports, and service navigation. It is with great confidence that I suggest contacting him to ensure officer mental health receives the appropriate care and attention in your community."
Chief Terence Delehanty Winthrop Police Department.
With over 20 years of experience Tom brings to his trainings a perspective very few have. His knowledge of, and passion for the subject matter is evident in his presentations. He has set up numerous CISM teams throughout Massachusetts and has helped countless police
officers. I highly recommend Tom to provide this essential training to your department
